Search 1 - Linear
Linear Kit (or Similar)
Setup: 40 containers placed against a wall, Leading into a corner, (not 50/50) with two hides, 2 hides anywhere in that area.
On Lead. Handlers must perform this search on a Lead that is not more than 3 metres long.
Movement: Handlers must continue moving forward as in League One. However once the Handler gets to the end of the kit they may turnaround and search the other way.
After finding the first hide, they may exit the search area and re-enter from the other side or the same side, it is their choice to continue searching. (clock will stop on first find and start again once the Dog is tasked to search).
Hides: Both hides remain in the search area throughout the search.
Search 2 – Freestanding
Setup: 20 items placed away from the wall in circle/ oval shape. Each item must be more than 1 metre away from each other.
Radius: Closest measurement from centre to any item should be no less than 2 metres and no more than 6 metres
Off Lead preferred: This search should be performed off Lead if possible, unless there is a specific reason why the Dog must remain on Lead.
Handler to stand in the centre on a clearly marked area, ring mat ect.
Dog to be tasked from the centre.
Cones to be used in the circle / oval to denote the entrance exit point. And area to reward.
Hides: Both hides remain in the search area throughout the search.
Search 3 – Mixed Item
Setup: 10 random items. Plus 16 containers in Four pieces of linear kit placed against a wall but at right angles to the wall.Hides can be anywhere within the marked area.
Area 6x6m approxLeads: This search can be performed off Lead. However, if necessary, it can be done on Lead.
Handlers may move around the area.
After finding the first hide, they may exit the search area to reward and the clock stops. The clock will start again once the Dog is tasked to search.
Hides: Both hides remain in the search area throughout the search.
