UCS competitions are designed to test, develop, and showcase your dog’s scent detection skills in a supportive, structured environment. At the moment, competitions focus on the Kong detection component only, with three levels to progress through, each made up of three searches. Teams are scored on dog performance, handler skill, and overall teamwork, with each run receiving a percentage score. Progression is based on consistency, with teams moving up a level once they achieve over 90% on two separate occasions. These competitions are not just about results, they are part of your training journey, with coaching and feedback provided after every run to help you improve. You also have the flexibility to switch into training mode at any time, keeping the experience positive, supportive, and focused on building both skill and confidence.
